I made a pizza today. I used a pre-made crust, jar pizza sauce, pizza mix cheese, spring onions, basil leaves and roasted red peppers. It was an extremely delicious pizza.
The basil was something new I bought - Freeze Dried Basil. It is supposed to be just like fresh basil but you don't have to refrigerate and it has a long shelf life. I was skeptical but I thought I'd try it out since I always end up throwing part of the fresh spices away. I opened the jar and sure enough, the contents did smell like fresh chopped basil - perhaps the scent is not as strong is true fresh leaves but still good. And they tasted yummy on the pizza.
Also the roasted red peppers were supposed to be fresh red peppers but when I cut open the pepper, it turned out to be rotten inside (so disappointing). But the roasted peppers were a nice substitute.
